Building a Better Work Triangle

We have heard much about taking an architectural approach to solving our back-office integration. However, what we have been calling systems integration shortsidedly addresses the only the technology – installing an application and integrating it with the IT infrastructure. What we should be talking about is business process integration -- matching the work triangle of the business (the workflow) with the systems, the applications and the hardware -- and using an architectural approach to do it.
